Yorktown Trip, MLK Weekend 2007
Pack 563 repeated our memorable MLK weekend trip of 5 years ago when we spent a long weekend in January in Charleston. We combined a full day and night on the Yorktown aircraft carrier with a trip to Fort Sumter and other local activities. The pack chartered a bus and filled it! Photos coming soon to the scrapbook.
Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain is the traditional start of the SMES cub scout camping year. We hike up the mountain, have a big communal cookout Saturday night, and sit around the campfire singing songs and telling scary stories. In 2006 the weather was great and the boys loved the creek! Providence Canyon Camping

Our November 2006 trip to Providence Canyon, the "Grand Canyon of the South," in the center of Georgia was a special treat.
Pinewood Derby Record!
Three Pack 563 cars qualified to join 35 other contestants at the 2006 District Pinewood Derby Championships. At this major regional event, Alex Boor came in at 16th place...Asher Flanagan came in at 4th place (and won a handsome trophy)...and Cole Bobbitt came in FIRST!! Not only did he win but he set a new TRACK RECORD. Congratulations to all three boys - and to their engineering fathers! 2007 was another good year, but not with the records of 2006. Maybe 2008 will be another big one!
