Biography
Gareth Young is an author, strategic consultant, web designer, as well as father and husband. After several years of transition, he finally left corporate employment in early 2006, and now has three books pending publication, a thriving consulting business (under the brand finanSight), and a growing web presence.
Mr. Young spent the last decade of his traditional career as Executive Director of Corporate Development for BellSouth Corporation in Atlanta, where he was responsible for developing and executing business expansion strategies through M&A, partnerships, and other transactions.
Prior to this Mr. Young spent three years in a special projects finance group at BellSouth where he led due diligence for acquisition and divestiture candidates, and assisted with strategy and modeling. He also performed operational audits, and designed and built a database application.
Mr. Young began his career at Deloitte, where he spent seven years serving diverse clients in industries including banking, retail, paper and printing, and light engineering. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the UK and became an audit manager in the UK and the US. He has received a number of awards, including the Elijah Watt Sells Award for the CPA exam.
A graduate of Jesus College, Oxford in the UK, with an MA in mathematics, Mr. Young is married and lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children (ages 9 and 11). He is actively involved in youth and spiritual activities.
